We will have a cup of coins collection that will be used for a clean water project. This coin event is for individuals and families to gather coins daily or weekly, put them in a cup and bring the coins to the church every Sunday. There will be big water containers in the church to collect all of the coins. The clean water project has not yet been identified. But options are being explored. This is an ongoing activity for the entire 3 months of Susan’s Sabbatical.
An inter-generational board game evening is being planned. Board games will be selected to allow them to be played by both adults and youths at the same time. This event is penciled into our calendar for 7 March, a Friday night. And as an added inducement, the evening finale will be a make-your-own sundae. Almost everyone loves ice cream and then adding goodies on top is great fun!
A swim party at SHARC is penciled in for the evening of 27 Mar., a Thursday night. We hope that individuals and families will attend, swim, interact and just have fun. Obviously both the old and the young can participate. SHARC has been contacted will allow us pool usage from 6 to 8 PM.
We will have presentation and discussion focused on issues of aging after one of our regular Sunday services. At this time there is not a tentative date or specific topic chosen. We are in conversation with an expert in the field, Dr. David McMahon.
A spiritual evening is being planned and will probably happen in April. A member of our congregation has volunteered to conduct a spiritual journaling experience for us. Again the details for this activity will be provided at a later date.
A Bobbin Mill hike will be scheduled upon Susan's return. As a favorite activity for Susan, we will use it as part of her joyous reunion. Once more, more details will be provided at a later date.
